(Sorry for the stream-of-thought nature of this post. It's just a memory dump. :))
Lori is now 8 weeks along. I am overwhelmed with happiness. This is the most exciting thing that has happened to me. I can only imagine what Lori is feeling.
The pregnancy was confirmed at week 4.5. During weeks 4.5 thru 7, we spent "initializing" the pregnancy, that is, we got all the initial books to learn about what to expect, and recipe books for becoming freakish "organi-vores". I've cooked lunch and dinner since, and I love it. Unfortunately, I had to spend the first part of week 7 in Portland, OR, for a conference. The second part, we've been dealing with Molly's obstructed bowels, and Lori has been super busy at work. Needless to say, I haven't had a chance to cook for us since coming home from Portland.
So far, our favorite meals are:
* Chicken Pad Thai w/broccoli, asparagus, carrots, cilantro and onions
* Chicken Curry w/peppers, scallions and onions
* Chicken Curry Shish-K-Bob w/mushrooms, peppers and onions
* Moroccan-style Chicken Stew (it's a secret recipe)
* Turkey Meat Loaf w/peppers, onions, dill, cilantro and scallions
Anyway. Yes. We've told our families and most of our closest friends. There are a few friends we haven't yet told, only because we've gotten busy these past 2 weeks. We hope to change that this weekend (and with this post :)). We don't want the news to get too far, yet, because it is still very early. But only three people know about this blog, so this post won't change that! Regardless, everyone so-far has been very supportive. We are happy to have such great friends. Thank you all so much!

Our first entry...
We have finally joined the wide world of blogs. We are still putting together the basic parts of our site, but were also anxious to let people know about it. Hopefully it will provide our friends and families with a simple, convenient way to see what we are up to on a regular basis and without us filling mailboxes with long emails and huge picture attachments. So, stick around. We'll soon be writing again. We have a lot of stuff to share, including the funny things our wiener dogs do, buying our house, building our fence for our horses, riding our horses and fishing at Piney Run Lake (only 1 mile from our place!).
